‘Constitution Week’ Going on in Sterling Heights

Said to have been created 60 years ago by Congress, Sterling Heights is currently in the middle of their ‘Constitution Week’ celebration. The timing of having a celebration of the Constitution couldn’t be any better considering everything that’s going on around the country these days, not to mention we’re in the midst of an election season.

If you’re not feeling ultra patriotic these days, though, Michigan is still worth your admiration, and this Michigan Antlers T-Shirt is a great way to show off your love of the Great Lake State.

 

The Sterling Heights City Council recently adopted a resolution designating Sept. 17-23 as “Constitution Week” in the city of Sterling Heights.

“During Constitution Week residents of Sterling Heights are urged to proudly fly the flag, celebrate the freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution, and reaffirm their commitment as citizens of this great nation to uphold the duties and responsibilities that good citizenship requires,” City Clerk Mark Carufel said.

Adoption of the resolution was requested by the Daughters of the American Revolution, a nonprofit organization comprised of women who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution. Continue Reading
