Universoul Circus Making its way to Michigan

With tickets starting at $16 and the event being referred to as the “Best Circus Ever”, the Universoul Circus should make for a great thing to do in Detroit up until the show ends come September 25. For the uninitiated, Universoul Circus is a high-energy act that is somewhat comparable to Cirque du Soleil, but the performances are much more fun overall.

While there, make sure to show Michigan some love and keep warm with this cool women’s hoodie.

From Detroit Free Press:

The multi-culti UNIVERSOUL CIRCUS, which showcases human and animal acts from all over the globe, is paying its annual late-summer visit to Detroit’s Chene Park through Sept. 25.  Acrobats from China, contortionists from Ethiopia and tigers and dancing elephants from the U.S. are just a little of what you can expect from the production, headed this year by South African ringmaster Lucky Malatsi. It’s all tied together by an eclectic musical score that incorporates everything from pop and R&B to hip-hop, Latin and gospel. The circus was founded 23 years ago by Atlanta businessman Cedric Walker, who suggests that his enterprise helps break down cultural barriers. “I believe the circus naturally brings people together,” he says.

Multiple performances (including morning and afternoon shows) scheduled through Sept. 25, Chene Park, 2600 E. Atwater, Detroit. universoulcircus.com
