For more than 70 years, diners have been heading to Kroll’s right across the street from the Green Bay Packer’s home field for some of the state’s best sandwiches. While diners find a good hamburger, it is the shaved prime rib sandwich served on a buttered sesame seed bun along with au jus for dunking that makes this location top our list.
If you find yourself in Madison, Wisconsin, on Wednesday evening or Thursday, then head to the Underground Butcher for their brisket sandwich. It is a ritual for many area families who eat here every Wednesday. The meat, which takes 18 hours to prepare is served on sourdough bread with mustard, pickles, and kimchi.
