The Drop, also known as “The D” is in downtown Detroit. During its 7th year celebration, it offers various activities suitable for both adults and kids. The celebration includes local entertainment to be performed on two stages. It has also ice skating, fire pits, horse drawn carriages, and many more. Surely, the kids will enjoy their own mini drop through various kiddy games and activities. The local restaurants, vendors and food trucks here will also offer yummy food.

Want to dance? You can put on your dancing shoes and walk the purple carpet when you’re here. The Detroit Symphony Orchestra in partnership with DPTV will have a party like it’s 1999. They will be here to pay tribute to the iconic legend known for his eclectic work, flamboyant stage presence, and extravagant dress.
Led by the orchestra’s conductor Brent Havens, who arranged Prince’s top hits for orchestra, they will perform the adaptations of the artist’s top hits including:

This is one Detroit’s most iconic buildings – the David Whitney Building. Why to celebrate New Year’s Eve here? There’ll be music and dancing in the transformed “Whitney Lounge” and a champagne toast together with a balloon drop in the nice atrium place at midnight. There’ll be also a live streaming by Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve and Campus Martius D Drop. Want to enjoy bonfire? You can do it right at the WXYZ patio.
